Details

Union Pacific Railroad is the largest railroad network in the United States. The history of this storied railroad begins with its founding in 1862. By 1869, Union Pacific had completed the first transcontinental railroad in North America. After some bumpy years during the decades of 1870 and 1890, Union Pacific emerged even stronger.

The design of Union Pacific Station fabric is composed of paraphernalia related to the company, including advertisements, logos, slogans and trains. A Southern Pacific Lines logo is included because this was one of various railroad companies that Union Pacific purchased.

It is interesting to note the different logos for Union Pacific displayed in the design. Some of them say Union Pacific Railway, while others read Union Pacific Railroad. This is because of Union Pacific’s periods of financial distress in the late 19th century. The company was initially founded as the Union Pacific Railroad, but after it woes during the 1870s, was reorganized as Union Pacific Railway. The reorganized company declared bankruptcy in 1893, and when it reemerged in 1897, it was once again known as the Union Pacific Railroad. Accuracy in such small details speaks to the quality of this novelty fabric.

Union Pacific Station is a splendid cotton fabric that you can use to make quilts, garments, draperies, lampshades, carrying bags, bed sheets, bedspreads, crafts, pet clothing and more.
