The blissful beauty of the night sky has enchanted and inspired poets and painters for centuries. Among these is Dante, whose narrator is guided by Virgil through the bowels of Hell “till they emerge once more the see the stars of Heaven”. Also, one of Vincent Van Gogh’s most famous paintings is Starry Night, which shows a town in the embrace of a star- and moonlit night.
