How do I get a Coupon or Discount?
Coupons and Discounts can be obtained through many means.
  1. We have a email newsletter which you can sign up for J&O Fabrics free newsletter.
  2. After you place an order we sometimes send discount coupons.

Do you sell Wholesale?
We do sell wholesale. Please remember wholesale depends on these factors. Having a Tax ID number, buying in bulk and a few other specific criteria. You can apply for wholesale here: Wholesale Inquiries
Does the fabric always come in one continuous piece?
Everything we carry in our Fabric Store comes straight from the mills. Each mill has different size requirements for their bolts or rolls. A bolt can range from 8 yards to 30 yards. A roll can range from 10 yards to 100 yards. If you prefer your fabric in one piece and you are ordering in quantities over 10 yards please email us at and ask us what size bolts the specific fabric you are interested in comes in.
What form of payment do you accept?
We accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Paypal and Google checkout.
What if I am afraid to put my credit card and info online? Can I still order from your store?
Yes, just put the items you would like in the shopping cart and put in your address and shipping information. On the payment page choose "Telephone Order" and then finish the checkout. After your checkout is complete your order is stored and awaiting payment. Please call us 215-335-9494 and you can pay over the phone using your credit card.

Do you accept Returns or Exchanges?
We do not accept returns or exchanges. Each of our fabrics orders are cut to order so we do not accept any type of return on those products. In some cases we special order fabrics from the mills and they are cut to order as well. Also, after an order is placed we update our quantity and purchase more for our inventory so we cannot accept returns on our fabrics in any case.
Are there any minimums yardage orders on any of your fabrics?
Yes, on any of our novelty fabric, flannel fabric, vinyl, fleece fabric, dress fabric, etc that is in stock there is a 1 yard minimum. Our upholstery and decorative fabrics are mostly 1 yard minimums.There are some upholstery fabrics and decorative fabrics that have a 3 yard and 10 yard minimum such as the ultra suedes and some of the tapestry fabrics. If you click on any of our fabric products there is a "Order Minimum" field to show you what the minimum is for that specific product.

On the products where there are 3 and 10 yard minimum they will be coming from another warehouse and will take a few extra days of transit time to get to their final destination.

Shipping Questions

How much is shipping?
Shipping depends on a few factors: Location, Weight of fabric, if fabrics qualify for flat rate shipping, weight of fabric, if fabric needs to be placed on a roll. Best way to get shipping rates is to put the fabrics you are interested into the shopping cart and click on the shipping estimate page: Shipping Rates. Do you ship worldwide?
Yes, we ship worldwide with the exception of a few countries. You can get the full list of countries we ship to on this page: Checkout Address.
Will I have to pay any Duties/Taxes if I ship this fabric outside the US?
Each country has a different platform in which they charge duties. Our suggestion is to contact the Postal service along with your local customs office and see if you will incur any additional charges. J&O Fabrics is not responsible for any duties that may incur.
What shipping carriers do you use?
We use both the US Postal Service and UPS.
Do you use Flat Rate envelopes and Boxes through the US Postal Service?
Yes, but the fabric you order must qualify for special flat rate packaging. If you place an order and only order products under the Novelty fabric section then you will be provided with shipping options that include flat rate boxes and envelopes. For further information click here: Shipping Info.

Misc Questions

Can we pre order a fabric not in stock?
Yes, please call our store during business hours and we can take a pre order over the phone 215-335-9494 or if you want to check when a fabric that is out of stock is due back in please email us at with which fabric with the product ID and how many yards are needed.
How long have you been in business?
Our Pennsylvania-based fabric store has been in business since 1962. Our business is a family business with the 3rd generation taking the helm.
What currency do you work with?
We only accept US funds.
How can I tell if the color of the fabric on my computer screen is the color I need?
Good question. Every monitor has different adjustments for color, brightness, etc. We suggest to never go by the colors you see on the screen and to order a SAMPLE of the fabric in order to see the colors, feel the weight and get a better idea about the fabric.

Website Questions

It says "add code" above my reference no., where do i find a code?
Best way is to sign up for our fabric newsletter, follow our fabric blog or become a fan, friend or like us on J&O Fabric store facebook page.
When I put in 1/8, 1/4, 1/2 etc. it automatically goes to 1 and 1/8. Why won't my computer let me order less than 1 yard of anything?
You must look at the minimum we sell per fabric/product. Most fabrics have a 1 yard minimum.
What's the difference between my billing info and my shipping info?
Billing information must be the exact information that is used on your credit card. We use a secure credit card system and if your billing information does not match your name, address and cvv of your credit card more than likely your order will not go through. Shipping info is a place to put what address you would like your order to be shipped to. If your billing and shipping information are the same you only need to fill out the billing information and click the box that says shipping information is the same as the billing information.
Will I get my order faster if I place a phone order or a website order?
No, orders placed on the website are sent right down to our cutting department and processed right away. Phone orders after they are fully placed and processed follow the same procedure.
What time do I need to place my online order for it to go out the same day that I place it?
All orders placed before 12:00 PM the same day will be shipped out the same day. If you place an order using an overnight, 2nd day, or 3 day select option your order is put ahead of other orders during the day.
I have fabric I'm trying to match, what's the easiest way to match it online?
The best way to match your existing fabric is to order a sample from our online fabric store. If you know the manufacturers name you can search for the fabric in our "shop by brand" section on the right of our web page above the photo of the old fashioned telephone.
Since each monitor is different how do I match colors?
The best way to match colors is to order a sample/swatch from our online store.
