Dick and Jane were the main characters in a series of classic books to teach children how to read written by Zerna Sharp. These books started appearing in the 1930's and were used extensively to teach children how to read until the 1970's. Today, the books are still fondly remembered for their simple yet distinctive illustrations by Eleanor Campbell and Keith Ward.
Their distinctive style of artwork is perfectly captured in Dick and Jane Look Sally fabric, in which Dick, Jane and Sally are shown getting into mischievous fun.
The print is divided into individual scenes, each in its own frame. The print is composed of two storylines: in the first, Sally has trouble holding onto an umbrella; in the second, she tries on Mother's shoes, but they are much too large for her. This adorable vintage fabric is composed of these stories as portrayed in eight frames. These frames are sold as a 23 1/2" panel. Each frame measures 9 3/4" wide by 9 1/8" long.
