Checker: Black/White by Alexander Girard

The legendary designs of Alexander Girard demonstrated that textile design can be inspiring as well as functional. The designs of Alexander Girard are quintessential examples of the Mid-Century style of textile design.

The 3/8" Black/White Checker fabric is one of the many classic designs Girard executed during his tenure (1952-1973) as founding director of the Herman Miller Textile Division. This upholstery weight pattern is versatile and lends itself particularly to modern or retro-themed decor. Draperies, table covers, slipcovers, pillows and lampshades are some of the uses for Black/White Checker. Each black and off white check is 3/8" by 3/8".
