Nestled at the base of the Wasatch Mountains in Provo, Utah, the University of Brigham Young is home to one of the premier teams in the Mountain West Conference: the Cougars. The Brigham Young Cougars have been particularly successful in NCAA football and basketball.
Among the football program's achievements can be counted the 1984 National Championship. The Cougars over the years have been helmed by some of the best collegiate quarterbacks, including one Heisman Trophy Winner and three Davey O'Brien Award winners. The Heisman was awarded in 1990 to Ty Detmer, who also won the Davey O'Brien in 1990 and in 1991. In 1981, Jim McMahon won the very first Davey O'Brien Award. Two years later, in 1983, Steve Young won the same award while quarterbacking BYU.
BYU has also had a successful basketball program, with 82 winning seasons, 26 conference titles and 21 NCAA tournament invites. BYU has also been to 10 NIT Tournaments, winning in 1951 and 1966.
The design of Brigham Young Cougars Ribbon: Two Tone is composed of the University's BYU logo over a navy and tan background. Enjoy all of the Mountain West Conference and NCAA games with our Brigham Young Cougars Ribbon: Two Tone fabric.
