Here is a felt craft that will make you melt! Gather the wee-ones and some felt fabric from J&O to create your own melting snowman craft! The holidays are over, but there is still plenty of winter crafting time remaining, and this one is certainly adorable.
This felt melting snowman craft takes under a half hour to create! Just gather materials and the kids and brighten up a cold winter evening!
You will need:
- Felt fabric (Snow is white, but ice blue could be cute, too!)
- Pom-pom
- Beads
- Black craft foam (for the top hat)
- Eyes
- Buttons
- Twigs
- Crafting glue
- Scissors
What to do:
- Begin by cutting out the puddle with the felt fabric. It is easiest to draw it first with a pencil.
- Next, glue the pom-pom onto the puddle. This will be the snowman’s head.
- Now it is time to give him or her a face! Glue the eyes (googly eyes are fun) to the head, use the beads for a mouth and cut out a carrot nose with some orange felt.
- Glue some buttons to the body and finish with twig arms
To make the top hat:
- Cut a small strip of black crafting foam (1” wide, 2” long)
- Glue the ends together to form a tube
- Cut out a circle to glue over the opening
- Cut out a larger circle for the brim
- Glue the brim to the bottom and the lid to the top
- Finally, glue the entire hat to the snowman’s head
- If you prefer a snow woman, cut out a stylish circle of felt for a feminine cap and maybe glue some yarn under it for hair.
