Brooches are back–and oh-so glam! Dress them up or down for fun & flirty appeal!

You will need:
• Fabric of your choice
• Round template (trace a vase bottom, cup bottom, anything round in the size you want)
• Felt fabric
• Fusible interface
• 1” bar pin
• Hot glue
• Thread
• Needle
• Button(s)
• Iron
• Sewing machine (optional)

Handmade fabric brooches are fantastic gift ideas

What to do:
• Cut out your round traced pattern using felt fabric. This will be the backing of your brooch. Trace and cut out a piece of fabric with interface attached using the same round pattern. *Your brooch pattern can be any shape and size you wish. If you have children’s toys around, they often make great patterns.

• Secure the bar pin to the back of the felt piece. You can sew it or use hot glue–whichever you feel is more secure. Tip: Make sure your pin is facing the correct direction! While it would make for a good laugh, it would be a pain to redo.
• Next, add your decorative fabric and perhaps some beading and buttons to our brooch—this is your chance to create your own masterpiece!
• Your iron is your best friend as you move along adding layers
• Now go into your closet and take inventory. You will find yourself imagining the next brooch to create! Enjoy!
