Santa has an iconic look to say the least. He can be recognized all over the world by his characteristic hat, boots, jacket, pants, and of course, his fluffy white beard. This Christmas season we sat down and really thought about what went into putting together that outfit when Mrs. Claus first sewed it hundreds of years ago.
Faux Fur
I think that we can all generally agree that Santa is a pretty philanthropic guy. This is the same man who hustles around the world in one night delivering gifts to people who have been working hard and deserve a special treat for being so awesome. Would someone that conscious of everyone else’s wants, needs, and feelings really use real fur? We don’t think so. Santa’s boots and jacket, and hat trim are definitely done with faux fur fabric!
Velvet
It is all about the red velvet suit! Without the classic red suit, Santa would be a shell of himself. The vibrant signature red is vital for letting his reindeer spot him in inclement conditions, bringing out the red in his rosy cheeks, and of course, it inciting excitement and joy in the hearts of millions. High quality velvet is the best way to convey that crazy bright color as well as keep toasty warm. Rumor has it, red velvet is also Santa’s favorite cake as well.
Fleece
You better believe that Santa is layering up on his long slay rides. You can’t just fly around the arctic up in the clouds at the end of December without considering the biting cold from the winter wind. That is why Santa is chooses thick fleece fabric to layer with to ensure that he can keep the chill off. It is also a great material to make the reindeer’s’ covers. They certainly need all the warmth they can get as well!
If you happen to run into Santa, be sure to ask if our speculations about his suit are correct. He is a hard man to get in touch with, especially at this time of year. The big man aside, we at J&O hope that you and your family have a wonderful Christmas filled with fun, family, and love.
Thanks for heads up!
