Every now and again one of our crafty customers shoots us an email laden with great pics of projects they were able to complete, businesses they are able to run, quilts they are able to create, and dreams they are able to fulfill with the help of our beautiful fabrics. One such customer is Wendy from The Tin Inn.
Born in 2004 out of a desire to satisfy her own passions, Wendy purchased a 1957 Cardinal so that she would have ready access in a vintage easy-to-tow vehicle for camping. Frustrated by all the packing, setting up, and air mattress mishaps she would encounter by tent camping in the past, this new-found alternative seemed the perfect fit for her creative and nature loving persona. With an extensive background in home renovation and interior decorating under her belt, Wendy would spend the next few months renovating her classic find. She had no problem caulking seams, packing bearings, and making sure all systems were working so that she could give it a go. The finishing touches, some retro pin-up girl curtains with coordinating pillow to make this little vintage carry along feel like home. With her unique eye for nostalgic vintage flair and her ability to make the old look new, it wouldn’t be long before her eye catching makeovers would catch the attention of passerby’s as she cruised down the highway or worked on new trailers in her yard. The approving response would eventually give her the courage she needed to turn this passion of hers into a growing business. Many trailers later, Wendy still carries that same zest for restoring each one. With each trailer dictating the theme that it would envelope instead of Wendy herself, her creative challenge becomes hearing the silent voice each trailer speaks and making each one into a functioning, unique, fun, piece of history. “They aren’t perfect, but like the rest of us, they are aging with style and grace!!”
