This project is pretty and perky–a vintage ruffle necklace tutorial! Thankfully, there is no need to choose between the two, as they are both quite simple and could even be interchangeable.

You will need:
• A variety of fabrics. You may use your scrap collection or purchase a half yard of several new prints for the season
• Scissors or pinking shears
• Needle and thread

What to do (for the ruffle necklace):
• Cut a sliver of fabric approximately 4”x12”, depending on how large you want yours
• Place a chain or string in the middle of the fabric and fold it in half
• Thread your needle and sew just below the chain, securing the fabric sides together with long stitches
• Leave enough room between the chain and your seam to gather the fabric
• Now pull the thread to gather into a ruffle, as bunched or loose as you like
• Voila! This can be taken off the chain and placed anywhere, like a plain headband! It is such a versatile accessory that you will want one in several colors and patterns!

The necklace is just as simple. You can do it this way, or slide one of the Giraffe’s headband pieces onto a chain! It is…off the chain!…sorry.
After the stitches are in place, pull to scrunch
