The whole point of makeup is to enhance beauty—so why tote it around or store it in a less than stunning container? This trendy makeup bag makes a great gift and a fun place to store your daily facial routine. The awesome part is that this is a low-sew project….meaning it is not quite a no sew, but close! I must say that I love the dots with the cute button—start with our polka dot fabric selections and get inspired!

Save your energy for your morning routine—this project is a snap!
What you’ll need:
• Decorative fabric (slightly sturdy)
• Use about 14” X 8” for a medium to large size case
• Scissors
• Sewing machine (or needle and thread if you are the Chuck Norris of sewing)
• Matching thread
• Permanent fabric glue or your preferred fabric adhesive
• Check out the button selection at your local fabric store and select a pretty button or snap to close the lid!

Save room inside with a bamboo roll that secures your brushes
What to do:
• Cut your fabric into 2 pieces: 9” x 8” and 5” x 8”
• Place the 9” fabric right side up and the 5” fabric right side down on top of it.
• Line the pieces up on the 8” sides (on the bottom only) and glue them together along the edge using a thin strip of glue, securing the ends to each other.
• Now flip the fabric over so that the wrong side is facing out
• Locate the other 8” sides that are not glued. Fold it so that ½ inch of the right side up is folded over the wrong side of the fabric and glue on the inside lip to make a finished edge
• Wrong sides should still be facing out. Glue a seam along both long sides.
• Now that all sides have glued seams, take smaller end (5”x 8”) and fold up and glue wrong sides together. Do this with long and short sides
• Fold the long flap down to the top of the makeup case. Glue the inside of this flap with wrong sides together
• Create a button hole in the center of this flap
• Fold it over the bag and mark the spot for the button
• Add the button and make sure it opens and closes smoothly
• You are ready to rock the new makeup case or wrap it as a gift! It also makes a great travel kit.
