1. Fabric Keyboards

This idea combines fun and functionality. Besides its fun look, the keyboard also doubles as a carrying case.

2. Camera Fabric

Researchers at the Massachussetts Institute of Technology have developed a mesh of light sensitive fibers that can collect images.

3. Solar Fabrics

Start-up company Konarka is teaming up with the renowned Ecole Polytechnique Federale de Lausanne to create a fabric that can collect and store up to 4% of the solar energy that hits it.

4. Musical Neckties

These fascinating ties are 50% audio cassette tape. When rubbed with a tape head they “play” back jumbled sounds from the New York City metro system.

5. High Tech Ink

Xerox has introduced a new ink that can be used to print electronic circuitry on plastic and even fabrics.
