It would be just under a year ago that fed up full-figured women from across the nation and around the world would unite at various rest stops along the internet highway to share their stories and frustrations with the ever challenging fashion retail industry and its UNwillingness to make fashions that not only fit and flatter, but are available to ‘real life’ women in ‘real full figured’ bodies.
From May 9-15th 2010, government and health organizations around the country will be empowering women to reclaim their health through various workshops, programs, and initiatives designed to educate women regarding health concerns primarily affecting their peer group. Coordinated by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ Office on Women’s Health (OWH), National Women’s Health Week strives to bring awareness to the necessity and importance of not only elevating the health standards of women across the country, but making the health concerns of women a top priority.1. Get at least 2-3 hours of moderate physical activity, 1-2 hours of vigorous physical activity, or a combination of both each week

March 8, 1911 marked the first celebrated International Women’s Day in many European nations as well as the United States, the topic at that time was women’s rights. Their presence in the Bible, their contributions to HIS-story, their place in modern day society; many women’s groups focused their energies and causes around these political issues. Books were written, organizations were formed, many even sparked protests and debates from not only the male poplulation, but some women as well who felt that each sex had their own place in society and that by supporting a ‘feminist’ movement, it was creating a shift in the norm that some were not ready for.
