It is a fact, I love to sew. It doesn’t matter if it’s on the machine or by hand. I also enjoy embroidery and have a couple dozen projects in progress. Since summer is soon approaching that means I’ll be traveling again. When I travel I like to pack my sewing and embroidery gear with me. So, I created this felt needle book to keep my pins and needles in place while on the road. The felt keeps them secure. If I have a needle already threaded it can easily be tucked away for a quick repair anytime and anywhere!

Spring Master Bedroom Makeover
Are you ready for a spring master bedroom makeover? Now that spring has arrived it’s time to put away all the dark colors and freshen up our living spaces. One of my favorite areas of the home to start with when a new season arrives is the master bedroom. After all, we spend so much time in this room, doesn’t it deserve a bit of seasonal sprucing up? It should be the most relaxing place in the house but it should also reflect your personality. There are a lot of ways to redecorate without breaking the bank. In this post we’ll cover three super easy projects to remake one of the favorite rooms of the house.

How To Make An Easy No-Sew Fleece Fabric Gift Blanket
It is the most wonderful time of the year! As the song says, there is much mistletoeing and hearts are glowing with holiday cheer. However, with all of the craziness that surrounds the holidays with cleaning and decorating the house for parties, putting up relatives, cooking, and finding the perfect tree, figuring out a gift that is personal and fits into your budget can be quite difficult. That is why we love making fleece fabric blankets for gifts. They are fantastic for friends at the office and for kids to make for teachers.
College Creations: A Splash of Color
Last year when my suite mates and I got our room assignment for this year, we ran directly up to the suite to knock on the door and check it our for ourselves. Even though we had never met the girls living there before, they were more than happy to show us around. After we noticed the amazing view, the next thing we focused on was how awesome the decorations were in their dorm. It looked less like a dorm and more like a little apartment! In an effort to recreate their decor, we have been hanging pictures and at on the walls. However, the real fun came when we decided to make our own art. This is an example of the mixed media art that we hung up and how to make it.
College Creations: Colorful Orginization
Hello! My name is Laura and I go to school in the amazing city of Boston where I attend Emerson College. As much as I adore school and my suitemates it can get a little crazy and a little cluttered living with five other girls. I try to do everything that I can to stay organized which is why I chose this project. These clipboards are great for keeping the copious lists that I make front and center and they add a special something to an otherwise boring part of my wall.
PeekaBOO!
You don’t need to go out and buy big expensive decorations to cast an ominous tone during the Halloween season. The votives are an easy, inexpensive way to set off a Halloween scene.
What you will need:
- Fabric glue
- Felt (we used black to make the finished product more ominous)
- Something to mark your fabric
- Glass votives
- Fabric scissors
- Candles
Step 1: Measure your votive’s height.
Step 2: Mark the height on the felt.
Step 3: Measure your votive’s width.
Let The Black Cat Out Of The Bag
Anyone can buy the black plastic goodie bags from the supermarket to give out candy. Creating these little bags is not only fast and easy, it is a simple way to give people a way to remember your amazing Halloween party!
What you will need:
- Felt
- Decorative fabric
- Scissors
- Sewing machine/ needle
- Thread
- Ribbon (or other desired accents)
Step 1: On your decorative fabric, mark the length and height that you want your bag to be.
Pretty Little Pumpkins
We at J&O love the fall. Cooler weather, the trees change to new and vibrant colors, and pumpkin pie is regularly on the dinner menu; honestly though, whats not to love? To celebrate the changing of the seasons, we created these adorable little pumpkins.
What you will need:
- Needle
- Thread
- Green/ orange felt
- Scrap fabric
Step 1: Fold a piece of orange felt, and trace the outline of a pumpkin onto the top layer. I sized mine around how much scrap fabric I had to stuff the finished pumpkin with. Also, to prepare to cut the fabric and make sure that it does not slide, I pinned the two layers together.
