Less Clubbing, More Crafting

The most wonderful weekend at the Jersey Shore is fast approaching. No, I’m not talking about the return of our favorite Jersey Shore guidos and guidettes from their jaunt about Italy. It’s almost time for Stone Harbor’s Art & Crafts Show!

Roughly 30,000 people are expected to take a walk through the rows of over 375 booths to catch a glimpse of all that is new and awesome in the world of fabric and crafts. The event is ranked #12 nationally and #1 in NJ so it is definitely in the ‘must attend’ column if you are in range of Stone Harbor that weekend. Taking public transportation is highly suggested so check the Cape May County Herald’s website for details about where to catch busses and trollies!

Home Sweet Beach

For those who frequent the beach, it becomes a second home. I know that I often look forward to jumping into the crashing waves even more than crossing the threshold of my house after a long day. By decorating your spot in the sand with your colors you can make it even more special for you and your family!

Required Materials:

  • A piece of PVC pipe (found at any hardware store)
  • Base fabric for your flag
  • Large piece of heavy paper
  • The fabric you plan on using to decorate with
  • A ruler

GiRL TalK!
Whether you refer to yourself as a girl, lady, women, gal, or chick we all have something in common. We are strong, vital, people, not the weaker sex by any means.

Somethings however, are uniquely ours, and if you’re like me, forever feminine – even if only a little, you may enjoy these finds.
At J&O Fabrics we have tons of designs to help bring the roar out of the kitten.
Here are a few that celebrate just us.

J&O’s Fabric of the Week Award: Friendship by the Sea

Hailed as one of the most sought after contemporary artists in Britain today, designer Faye Whitaker just can’t help but take us back to an age of innocence and sweet surrender with her Friendship by the Sea line of designs for Elizabeth’s Studio. From the moment you rest your weary eyes upon her works of seaside inspired art, the stress lines and worry wrinkles of a life far too hectic, start to quietly fade away. You are instantly transported back the days of your youth, where sunsets seemed never ending, and the ocean would sing you her sweet lullaby until the sandman swept you gently away.
