Jennifer Hudson in Versace

Stunning, Elegant, simply radiant… these are just some of the words that first came to mind when our J&O Fabric Store bloggers surfed the web for red carpet coverage of this years 83rd Oscar Awards and stumbled on Jennifer.
From her tidy up-do to her contrasting yet fashionably acceptable purple shoes, Ms. Hudson commanded the cameras as she gracefully displayed the artistry of not only her newly formed and seemingly comfortable body, but the absolutely wonderful tangerine Versace gown that adorned it.
The floor length low-cut taffeta halter seemed to hug Jennifer’s healthy yet trimmed down silhouette as if it was only meant to be worn by her, and the confidence in which she walked with was a reflection of that.
With an enhancing yet glamorous make-up job and tastefully jeweled adornment dripping from her lobes and wrists like crystalized water, Ms. Hudson appeared every bit as sexy as she did regal. If you would like to dress like the movie stars at the Oscars than you must check out our dress fabric categories that include beautiful fabrics including: chiffon fabric, charmeuse fabric, polyester crepe fabric, our satin fabric collection and taffeta fabric much like the fabric that was used on Jennifer Hudson dress pictured above.  Have fun sewing 🙂

“The Raving Reds of the 2008 Oscars!”

The carpet wasn’t the only one wearing red at this years’ Oscar’s. Notable film and television favorites came dressed to impress in what some say was just what the Oscar’s needed to jolt the dreary energy of a lingering winter, and the weighted residue from the pending writer’s strike.
The lovely ladies of stage and screen came out to warm the blood of men and stimulate the senses of all in their one of a kind, custom made and right of the runway designer gowns from such fashion icons as Valentino, Galliano, Escada and Kevan Hall. From the legendary Ruby Dee , suited in a ruby red satin gown complete with rhinestone belt, to new comer Miley Cyrus, in a red chiffon bow backed number, it was clear that red was the undisputed color of choice, and these diva’s worked their fashionable garments as only they could.
