Although a cliché, often enough opposites truly do attract. In music, for example, counterpoint is an interplay between contrasting, often opposite, musical lines.
So it shouldn’t surprise that in textiles, one of the most imitative of arts, opposites and contrasts in colors and fabrics are deliberately sought out for their potentially bold effects.
