You will need:
- Wooden discs (or other shapes, depending on desired style of earring). You can buy these in various sizes. Pro-tip: If you can find some with the holes already drilled, it will save you that step!
- Fabric. Select a few fabrics that you love, so that you are prepared when the urge strikes to make another pair!
- Jump ring and earring hook or clasp
- The all-powerful Mod Podge! (Or fabric adhesive of your choice).
- White paint (optional)
Plain wooden discs form the base for this project
Glue the sides down firmly, then cover remaining wood with another circle of fabric. You may use a coordinating fabric for the other side!
What to do:
- Paint the wood white if desired, it will brighten the look of the fabric in some instances. Allow to dry completely.
- Coat the wood with Mod Podge on one side and lay onto fabric.
- Snip the fabric around it, leaving just enough to cover the sides.
- Carefully glue the sides down.
- Next, glue a round piece of fabric to the other side, covering all of the wood.
- Drill a small hole through the earring. If a hole exists, press a pin through the fabric.
- Finally, add a jump ring and hook and you are ready to rock your new fabric earrings!
