Quirky Cork

Adding little personal touches to your living space is usually what makes a room special. This project is a perfect example of turning something that is usually bland and boring (cork) into something fun!

Required Materials:

  • A sheet of cork (found at Michael’s Arts and Crafts)
  • Something to anchor the finished product to the wall
  • Scissors
  • Glue Gun
  • Colorful fabric
  • Pins/ needles
  • Something to mark the fabricjandocorkboardmaterialsjandocorkboardmaterials2

Step 1: Situate the piece of cork that you will be using on your fabric and mark where you want to cut. Make sure that it’s enough to completely cover the font with a little excess to cover the sides. This is not an exact science.

Step 2: Cut out the fabric.

Step 3: Use your hot glue gun to cover the top of the cork.

Your unfinished cork should look a little like this:

This is what your finished product should look like!

This is an incredibly inexpensive project to do and is a great way to add a nice touch to a college dorm room where there is not too much room for self expression.
