You will need:
- Several coordinating fabrics (see photos for an idea on how many you would like to contrast)
- A dozen foam balls in any size (this figure depends on how many ornaments you are making)
- Scissors and utility knife
What to do:
- Use a marker to mark off the sections on the Styrofoam ball.
- Next, cut into the marked lines with a utility knife, deep enough to tuck in your fabric.
- Prepare fabric by cutting it into strips ½ inch wider and longer than the foam sections you have marked off. It will be easier if you taper the fabric at the top and bottom!
- Now use the back of the utility knife to tuck the fabric securely into the slots on the Styrofoam ball. This will be the most time-consuming part.
- Work in each fabric section until the ball is completely covered.
- Finish it off with a ribbon and floral pin to create the loop to hang it from and you are finished! (You may choose to substitute twine)

I couldn’t help noticing the sharp edge pointing up when you try and tuck your fabric in. I have done this before with a plastic knife and a lot more successful too. Much safer.
