Philadelphia Phillies Phever takes over J&O Fabric Store

Last Friday while discussing my weekend plans with a friend the Phillies first game of the NLCS series against the Cinncinati Reds came up. “Of course I’ll watch, but I know they’ll sweep it” It was just a feeling.

By Sunday night I still had no doubts as my motley crew of fellow Phanatics, came together at the local hang-out to watch. Cole Hamels completed what Roy Halladay started on Friday, putting the Philadelphia Phillies back in the NL championship series.

Hamels pitched a complete game shutout against the Reds as the Phillies won 2-0 to sweep the Reds 3-0 in their best-of-five NLDS. This is the third straight year that the Phillies advanced to the NLCS.

Monday night the Giants were victorious over the Braves in Game 4 of the NLDS, winning the series.

This Saturday the torturous process of biting nails and ringing out rally towels begins in earnest as Game 1, is played in Philadelphia. Game 2 is Sunday, and the best-of-seven series goes to San Francisco on Tuesday, Wednesday and if needed, Thursday.

As for me, I’m no longer feeling psychic. I’ll be biting my nails along with the best of them, silently saying a little prayer.

Schedule: (All times Eastern) Game 1, Saturday, at Philadelphia (7:57 p.m.); Game 2, Sunday, at Philadelphia (8:19 p.m.); Game 3, Tuesday, Oct. 19, at San Francisco (4:19 p.m.); Game 4, Wednesday, Oct. 20, at San Francisco (7:57 p.m.); x-Game 5, Thursday, Oct. 21, at San Francisco (7:57 p.m.); x-Game 6, Oct. 23, at Philadelphia (3:57 p.m.); x-Game 7, Oct. 24, at Philadelphia (7:57 p.m.). (All games on FOX).
