You don’t need to go out and buy big expensive decorations to cast an ominous tone during the Halloween season. The votives are an easy, inexpensive way to set off a Halloween scene.
What you will need:
- Fabric glue
- Felt (we used black to make the finished product more ominous)
- Something to mark your fabric
- Glass votives
- Fabric scissors
- Candles
Step 1: Measure your votive’s height.
Step 2: Mark the height on the felt.
Step 3: Measure your votive’s width.
Step 4: Mark the width on the felt.
Step 5: Cut out the felt rectangle that you outlined. Remember to err on the side of cutting it a little big rather than perfectly sized. You can always trim it back, but it is far less simple to add a quarter of an inch if you cut your fabric too small.
Step 6: Draw the face (or eyes) that you are planning on cutting out. 
Step 7: Cut out the face.
Step 8: Dab the fabric glue onto the side of the felt that you want facing in then place the votive on the end of the fabric.
Step 9: Roll votive down the fabric until it is completely covering it.
Step 10: Enjoy the finished product!!!
This craft is great to do with kids so if you get frustrated with the mess that carving pumpkins is making, this is a pretty good alternative. We hope that you and yours will have a super spooky (but safe) Halloween!
