Patterns of Summer

Summer is a season of cookouts, long overdue vacations, bikinis at the beach.  We can finally shed all those layers and run free.  Many women can’t wait to don their summer wardrobes!  Skin baring tank tops, flirty dresses, and strappy sandals that offer a peek at painted toes make street-side café gazing a new sport.

So, you’ve been checking out your magazines and getting a look at what the designers have in store for the upcoming season.  Some of the shoes and dresses have definitely made your lust list.  If only you could have them all!

It’s time for the crafty seamstresses to break out their sewing machines.  It’s also a great time to get those sewing lessons you’ve been thinking about.  Summer clothes tend to be simple in shape and use easy fabrics, making them a very good place for beginners to start.  There’s nothing more rewarding than transforming a designer inspiration into your own personal creation (and saving a bundle on department store prices in the process).
