More than ever before caring for the environment is at the forefront of the news. People are asking themselves what they can do to be more environmentally friendly. The Robert Kaufman fabric company has an answer for quilters, dressmakers and crafters looking for more ecologically responsible fabrics. To that end they have introduced a varied line of organic fabrics. All of these fabrics are part of Kaufman’s greenSTYLE collection. Here are some examples:
Sea-Tiva Cotton/Seacell Fabrics
These exclusive organic textiles are produced using seaweed derived fibers together with cotton.
Without using chemical additives, bamboo produces a natural, beautiful and soft fiber for use in textiles. Bamboo is a natural cellulose fiber that achieves natural degradation in the soil and won’t cause pollution.
The Kona Organic Cottons are grown using a production system that replenishes the soil and maintains its fertility. The growing methods also reduce the use of toxic pesticides and fertilizers.
For instance, bamboo fabrics are naturally anti-bacterial and odor-resistant – even after washing -, which eliminates the need for chemical treatments. This is an ideal style of fabric for those who are sensitive to allergens.
These organic fabrics allow our customers to choose fabrics with which they can invest in the environment.
