New York City is a hub of everything from fashion to food. Therefor, It does not come as a surprise that NYC is also a mecca for the fabric industry. Case and point, this upcoming July the Premiere Vision Review is being held at the Metropolitan Pavilion. The event features hundreds of fabric vendors who will display the materials that will be used in making the fall collections of some of the world’s best known designers.
The event promotes purveyors of the trendiest high quality fabric. However, the most important thing that the new seasonal fabrics provide is inspiration. There are tens of demonstrations and mini shows happening constantly during the two day event. What the vendors and exhibitionists have to offer is what shapes next season’s high end collections.
This happening is the end all be all of the textile industry in terms of fashion. Last year, buyers from Polo Ralph Lauren, Michael Kors, Anna Sui, G-III, Bloomingdales, Nordstrom and Saks Fifth Avenue all attended the event. Even Diane Von Furstenberg and Nanette Lepore themselves were spotted taking a peak around at the vendor’s stalls.
