We have shown several ways to cover pillows with fabric to revamp a room. This new sew throw pillow craft is among the easiest options, and even features a cute knot in the front for added interest! So hurry and choose your favorite fabric prints in our online store and get ready to make your own pillows. You may not even need scissors, and will be done in minutes!
Decorative pillows are typically overpriced. Make your own in minutes with this cute idea and our amazing selection of decorative fabrics! (Photos by the Untrained Housewife).
You will need:
- Fabric. Choose a few different fabrics so that they are all on hand! The reason? This is a simple and addictive craft and we would hate for you to run out of fabric when you are still in the mood to create!
- The fabric should be 2 ½ times larger than the pillow. Add a few inches more to be sure!
- Plain throw pillows (square)
What to do:
- Place the fabric with the print facing down
- Angle the pillow in the center of the fabric to resemble a diamond rather than a square
- Begin by folding one corner of the fabric up and over a side of the diamond
- Repeat with the opposite (parallel) side, folding the tip under so that it will look neat.
- Now it is time to fold the other 2 parallel sides. Pull the two sides together into the center of the pillow and secure with a cute square knot.
No sew pillows with a twist! Or tie….
How easy was that? It is entirely likely you did not even need your handy scissors! Share your photos and ideas with us on Facebook!
