Besides the usual assortment of scissors, needles and thread we have quite a few nifty sewing notions for the crafter that might get overlooked. If you like to personalize your projects or add a bit of glamor check out some of my favorite picks below. You might just want to stockpile a few of these to have on hand when a creative surge hits you!
Want to say something on your project? Check out our Iron-On Letters which makes personalizing any project quick and easy. Make a pennant, banner, tote or personalized T-Shirt in a jiffy!
I love our Chadelle Feather Boas. The great thing about these boas is they can be cut, sewn and glued without unraveling, which is something I’ve struggled with in the past. Add a touch of glamour to your sewing projects or costumes.
Our marabou feather boas are a little less bold but equally as glamorous! As a birthday gift I sewed a small purse for a little friend of mine and for a finishing touch I sewed one of these boas around the top edge of the purse. She was absolutely in love with her gift from the first sight! You can also use these boas around the bottom rim of a lamp shade for a touch of pizazz. Don’t stop there, these boas are also sweet sewed along the hem of a little girl’s dress!
My mother and grandmother are die-hard crafters. Some of my earliest memories are watching them whip out project after project. So, one “notion” that I was raised with was Aleene’s Original Tacky Glue. The golden bottle of glue has held together many of our projects and brings back fond memories. So, in true blue fashion I stock my own craft room with this all purpose adhesive!
