Making Mother’s Day—Fabric-Punched Card

You could send flowers this Mother’s Day…or you could give her a thoughtful hand-made fabric card that will last forever! Any mom will tell you that a gift does not need to be expensive to hit home, and that it is always more meaningful when your time and thought has clearly gone into it!

To quote my own mother: “Flowers ordered online just scream procrastination. I enjoy receiving gifts from the heart…or from Coach.”  You may laugh, I certainly did!

You can create your special card for mom in 3 easy steps. Browse our fabrics and select a lightweight fabric like Indian cotton or voile and get started!

Step 1: Select a simple fabric flower pattern (there are literally thousands available online, or you may draw your own and cut it out). Punch out or cut out your petals and apply fabric stiffener. Allow them to dry while you move on to step 2.
Step 2: Fold cardboard into a card shape, and wrap with the decorative fabric of your choice. Use a fabric adhesive to secure the fabric to the cardboard.
Step 3: Glue your pretty fabric flowers (and leaves if you choose) to your card, curling the tips upward. You can also use acrylic paint to add stems and lettering.

Pro tip: Use a fine tip pen to include a personalized message on the inside of the card. You can choose an elegant stationary to glue to the inside and write your message on it! Mom is certain to hold onto her special card forever!
