Every once and awhile our wonderfully creative customers will bring a finished project in to show us just what they do with our fabrics once their treasured finds leave the store.
One such customer is Ms. Elaine S. who fashioned these two fabulous quilts using an assortment of 100% cotton novelty prints from both our popular animal/nature and skulls/crossbones fabric collections.
Elaine, alongside several other Jersey quilters, gather each Wednesday at an undisclosed location in Cherry Hill to combine their creative gifts and loving hearts into making beautiful one-of-a-kind quilts for foster children in need of a little extra TLC during their sometimes long and lonely journey through the child welfare system. Sometimes possessing little if any belongings of their own, these custom made quilts offer a reflection of love and life, in a world that often times appears to have let them down.
Using an assortment of colorful animal prints and images, Elaines first featured quilt speaks to the nature lover and adventurer in all of us. With large sized captions of penguins, cheetahs, fish and other creatures of nature framed within an even larger safari inspired canvas, her quilt is a conversation piece in and of itself inspiring young boys and girls to open their minds and stretch their imaginations past the four walls of their dwelling spaces.
Elaines second quilt speaks to the vibrancy of youth with its red, black and white pattern of popular skull & cross bone designed fabric. Abstract and alluring in its own way, Elaine lends her seasoned skills and creative imagination to this modern day print .
