As our Facebook Fan page keeps growing, more and more of our crafty customers are showing off their cool creations for our J&O Fabrics family and community to view, share, and comment on. One such fan is fellow Facebook page holder, Erin of Dazzlin’ Dresses.
Erin showcased one of her beautiful girl’s novelty print cotton dresses on our J&O Fabrics Facebook page and we liked it so much, we wanted to know a little bit more about her and her hobby. Turns out, Erin not only creates for family and friends, but does custom work for interested individuals who have stumbled upon her works either through word of mouth, her own facebook page, or her dazzlin’ yet simplistic website which features childrens retro print dresses, skirts and even custom designed onesies for little gents. She even has her own blog keeping her clients informed as to the inner workings of her mind as she moves through her creative process.
When asked what the story was behind her car seat creation, Erin had this to say:
” I am a mom to two daughters, 8 and 4, and a wife to an Air Force Officer. We have lived in 4 states in 10 years!! I have searched for years for something that I could do in the home that would add to the household income without taking time away from my family. So I posted a picture on Facebook of some dresses that I had made for my girls one weekend. After the day was over I had several orders from my friends for dresses of their own. I then started a Facebook page just for my dresses so that I could reach a larger group of people. After a month I have sold just under 50 dresses, one to a customer as far away as Germany!
What a great way for us to nurture our imagination, express our love, and put a smile on a young childs face all at the same time. Thank you for sharing Erin!
