Meet Jessica Jones, a graphic and textile designer. When she’s not designing, she’s blogging on HowAboutOrange. Her blog, which is chock-full of useful DIY tutorials and projects, recently featured a cool craft project that combines fabric with Jessica’s love of books.

If you have an old encyclopedia, this repurposed book project is just the thing for you. This post features 33 items crafted from books. Our personal favorite: how to make a sewing box from a book.

Bend-The-Rules
While technically not a blog, this community of sewers on Flickr has some awesome photos of completed sewing projects. Check out the boy smock or the simply stunning denim bag for some creative inspiration!

If you’re looking for a fresh idea for your next sewing project, Bend-the-Rules Sewing™ is an excellent resource.

CraftsNCoffee
One of the nice things about bloggers is their willingness to share. CraftsNCoffee featured how to make custom wall art with fabric foam using step-by-step instructions from So Dang Cute Crafts’ blog.

CraftsNCoffee also has some great tips for making cool fabric wall art.

iHanna’s Blog
Did you know that artist trading cards made out of fabric have been around since 1997?  These miniature works of art are created on 2½ x 3½-inch or 64 x 89-mm pieces of card stock. Hanna, whose blog is dedicated to arts, crafts and creativity in everyday life, showcased these remarkable embroidered owls.

Hanna’s blog also offers wonderful tutorials on everything from making quilts to crafting cat baskets.

Millions of Blogs
We’ve only scratched the surface on the millions of novelty fabric craft blogs online. Check back each month as we feature some of the more interesting, unusual and unique projects. If you have a fabric project you’d like featured, just send J&O a photo with instructions, and we’ll see what we can do!
