It is a fact, I love to sew. It doesn’t matter if it’s on the machine or by hand. I also enjoy embroidery and have a couple dozen projects in progress. Since summer is soon approaching that means I’ll be traveling again. When I travel I like to pack my sewing and embroidery gear with me. So, I created this felt needle book to keep my pins and needles in place while on the road. The felt keeps them secure. If I have a needle already threaded it can easily be tucked away for a quick repair anytime and anywhere!
Supplies
1 (4″x6″) piece of pink craft felt
1 (4″x6″) piece of white craft felt
2 (6″) pieces of rick rack
Pins
Rotary Cutter or Scissors
Ruler

Step 1: Cut the felt and rick rack to the size specified in the supply list. I like to use a rotary cutter and a self-healing mat along with my trusty clear ruler.

Step 2: Pin the rick rack to the top and bottom edges of the pink craft felt. Sew the rick rack to the felt.

Step 3: Place the pink felt, rick rack side down, on your table. Now, lay the white piece of felt on top. You are making the pages and spine of your needle book. Use a ruler to find the center of the book which is 3″ from the outside edge. Use a pin to mark the center.

Step 4: Now sew the pages together by stitching 3″ in from the outside edge, creating the spine.
Step 5: Use a pressing cloth and a cool iron to press your book.

Step 6: Fill with your pins and needles!
