These scrappy and well-loved looking versions caught our eye; they just have that heirloom appeal that can be passed down throughout the generations. Choose from our selection of holiday fabrics here and get inspired to make your own versions!
You will need:
• A variety of mix-and-match holiday fabrics and plain fabrics to blend in with. Measure 17” x 6” for this particular pattern
• Lining (1 fat quarter per stocking)
• Backing (1 fat quarter per stocking)
• Batting
What to do:
• Cut out pattern and trace lining pieces, in opposite directions (see photo)
• Gather fabric strips (approximately 15-18 strips)
• Trim batting slightly larger than pattern
• Arrange fabric strips until you are pleased with the result
• Begin by placing the middle strips over the batting, as shown. Sew strips together and to batting with a ¼” allowance.
• Press strips open
• Continue adding strips in this fashion, sewing right sides together and pressing open.
• Match up the front side with a lining side, the toes will point in the same direction. Do the same for the backside.
• Sew the edging with a decorative and sturdy stitch, inside out
• Turn right side out, trim fabric close to seam and topstitch closed
• Make any adjustments needed, and you are finished!
