Give Glam: Addictive Ruffled Gift Bags

Before you get started, I must sincerely warn you: making these adorable ruffled gift bags has the potential to become addictive…much like caffeine! So grab a mug of your favorite joe (wrapped in your favorite java jacket, of course!) and begin by browsing our versatile selection of fabrics for inspiration! Once you select your fabrics, we will send them right over, or you may come in and pick them up (because you know you want to say hello and see all of the goodies in the store!).

We love these examples by Allie from Miss Lovie Creations. Why purchase from the droves of identical bags lining the shelves at your local Walmart or Target when it is such fun to make things like this?

You will need:
•  Your awesome fabric
•  About 20×7 in of tulle
•  About 20×5 in of chiffon
•  About 20×3 in of cotton
•  Plain gift bags (you can buy in bulk!)
•  Hot glue
•  Your sewing kit

What to do:
To recreate Allie’s talent, use approximately 4 layers of ruffles, each layer cut to double the length of your bag.
•  1st layer: 5 or 6 layers of tulle or mesh, an inch from each side of your bag
•  2nd layer: Chiffon will add texture, but you may opt for cotton if you prefer. 4-5 inches wide
•  3rd & 4th layers: Alternate your coordinating fabrics, about 3 inches wide for the 3rd layer and 1.5 for the 4th layer.

Begin with a plain bag and proceed to personaize
