Here is a new twist to the traditional bookend! These do-it-yourself fabric beanbag bookends are a great way to add a sense of fun to any study! Begin by browsing our decorative fabric selection for inspiration, and place your order!
Bright idea: Fun and fresh fabric beanbag bookends!
You will need:
- A few different fabrics from J&O!
- Needle and thread or Mr. Singer
- Contrasting threads look cool for this project
- A plastic baggie filled with sand or dry beans. Any filling you choose, just remember that they need to be sturdy enough to hold up a book or two!
What to do:
- Cut two 8” x10” pieces of fabric. They do not have to be the same fabric, mix it up for even more color! The beauty of this craft is the simplicity–you can make your beanbags smaller or larger, as desired. You can use a large beanbag on each side, or a few coordinating small ones.
- Place the print sides together and sew 3 of the sides using a ½” allowance.
- Turn right side out and insert either a sandbag or similar bean filling.
- To finish, topstitch all the way around the beanbag!
