Learning is easy and fun with these felt flash cards! Easy to make and great for children, just grab some felt or fleece fabric from J&O and add this to your arsenal of at-home learning tools!
You can make these felt fabric learning cards in a flash!
You will need: (for a set of 16)
- ½ yard of felt fabric for the bases, and more colors for the letters and numbers.
- 16 large eyelets or grommets
- Fusible interfacing
- Large metal ring (2.5”)
What to do:
- Cut out 32 rectangles using your base color
- Use the template to cut out desired numbers, shapes or letters for your set of felt flash cards. These will need to be in a different color than you selected for the base!
- Pro-tip: If you want to make a memory game, be sure to cut two of each letter!
- Applique the numbers to the lower portion of the felt squares, stitching around the outside of the digit
- Apply fusible interfacing to the wrong side of each piece appliqued for more strength
- Now stitch the plain felt square backing to the appliqued side, close to the edge.
- Finally, add the eyelet or grommet to each flash card in the corner of choice. Make sure to use the same corner for each card!
- Attach them to the metal ring for easy storage!
Add decorative fabric for the numbers!
