These felt Easter eggs have a pocket to hold jellybeans and other treats for the little ones this holiday

You will need:

  • Felt fabrics in a variety of colors
  • Bright embroidery floss
  • Sharp scissors are best when working with thick felt fabric
  • Tissue paper for pattern
  • Pro-tip: When Choosing felt fabric colors, plan to make an egg in each color for each child. This way, all eggs are the same and no bunny is fighting!

What to do:

  • Draw your eggs on tissue paper and then cut them out. See pattern photo
  • Use the pattern pieces to cut out as many felt eggs as you wish to make. It is easier to trace the pattern all over your felt fabric first, and then cut out the eggs.
  • Next, line up the small side of the egg with the larger half, and stich them together. Leave the top open. If you have the time, you may blanket stitch and finish the edging.
  • The smaller top piece will overlap to form a pocket
  • Finally, fill the sets of eggs with goodies and place them in Easter baskets and hide them around the house!

You may use coordinating or contrasting thread. Using a blue or pink thread would add some interest and color to the yellow felt egg, for example.
