Fashionable Fabric Necklace Tutorial

We have shared fabric necklace notions in the past, and it is remarkable how an old pair of jeans, blouse or even last season’s stretch pants can become your new favorite necklace or headband! Use this no-fuss and fun tutorial from Mia Cronan to create your own ensemble this season.

Tip: If you prefer to start with a new fabric rather than a used item in your closet, our fabric store is where to begin! Follow link and find fabrics of all textures and colors in all price ranges.

Simply cut, add beads, tie it together and enjoy an instant accessory. This idea can be adapted for any holiday with our seasonal and holiday fabrics!

You will need:
•  The fabric of your choice cut into 24” x 2” section
•  Needle nose pliers
•  Scissors
•  Large beads with openings large enough to pull the fabric through (or smaller scraps of fabric to tie around it, if you prefer)

What to do:
•  Cut your fabric neatly into 24×2 inch strips
•  Place beads in an attractive arrangement
•  String the beads onto the fabric. Easy button: use your needle-nose pliers to help pull it through. I bet you were curious about them being on the supply list until this point!
•  Pull the beads around on the fabric until they satisfy your style
•  Tie ends together or secure with snaps, buttons or clasp! Voila!

Remember that you can update your fabric necklace anytime by removing the beads and replacing them with new! The sky is the limit with this project, as you can use solid patterns with decorative beads or pattern fabric with solid beads!

Fast and fabulous

Where will your imagination take you?
