There are very few things that bother me more than stains on my clothes. Unfortunately, I am the most accident prone out of all of my friends and am constantly spilling and splattering anything and everything all over my shirts. As a result, I am a walking Tide commercial; I have a Tide-To-Go stick in every purse I own because they are safe on all materials from tweed to cotton fabric. As such a messy individual, I have often dreamed of a day when I would never have to worry about ruining my favorite items of clothing with everything from chocolate syrup to tomato sauce. It appears that my dreams are finally coming true thanks to the marvels of modern science.

A company called Ross Technology’s has developed a spray called NeverWet that renders whatever you spray it on superhydrophic. In laymen’s terms, that means that whatever you spray the chemical on will not just repel water like Gortex fabric, but will act as an impenetrable forcefield against any type of liquid. If you think the description is cool, you should see it in action in the video below.

Just think, no more worrying about your kids making a mess of their good clothes or coming back from lunch with embarrassing stains on your tie! NeverWet will be on shelves in mid 2012 and I for one can not wait. The amount of time that it will save me scrubbing and bleaching will make the cost well worth it. As much as I love my Tide-To-Go sticks, I would gladly trade them in for a gallon of this stuff.
