Just when we thought that we couldn’t love coffee anymore, a company called Singtex Technical Fabric figured out a way to weave it into cloth. Talk about a merger of loves.

The fabric was dubbed Ice-Cafe and contains 2% coffee ground nano-particles.Its most important functions are: one, it absorbs water and dries fast; two, it has deodorizing function or odor control function; three, it blocks harmful ultraviolet rays; and four, it reduces harm to the environment,” Singtex’s general manager, Jason Chen, said.

The Taiwanese people were already recycling part of the 30 tons of used coffee grounds that are produced a day on the island. However, with Singtex recent discovery, that small percentage has grown. Even larger corporations are starting to follow in the Taiwanese people’s footsteps and use the newly discovered process to produce their goods. Timberland and New Balance have already incorporated coffee-fabric into some of their newer products.
