What to do:

  • Cut the fabric into 12×14-inch pieces. You may opt to use coordinating felt for added texture
  • Tip: Add a layer of sturdy fusible webbing and styrofoam between layers for added strength
  • Handle pieces: Draw a quick pattern for them with a ruler, they can be as thick or thin as you wish
  • Once the pieces are all cut out and prepared, sew handles together with right sides facing. Use a ½” seam allowance and don’t forget to leave an opening for turning
  • Once stitched, turn and press. Finish with a topstitch
  • Sew the main pieces of the storage caddy together, following the same steps as the handles
  • Next, place the print side of the fabric up and align the handles with the short side facing the center. Sew.
  • With the print part of the fabric inside, fold short edges together and sew
  • Turn
  • Crease edges with a metal ruler or press
