This fabric storage caddy makes a great gift idea!
You will need:
- Fabric
- Felt fabric (if desired)
- Sturdy fusible webbing
- Coordinating thread
- Crafting cardboard or styrofoam
What to do:
- Cut the fabric into 12×14-inch pieces. You may opt to use coordinating felt for added texture
- Tip: Add a layer of sturdy fusible webbing and styrofoam between layers for added strength
- Handle pieces: Draw a quick pattern for them with a ruler, they can be as thick or thin as you wish
- Once the pieces are all cut out and prepared, sew handles together with right sides facing. Use a ½” seam allowance and don’t forget to leave an opening for turning
- Once stitched, turn and press. Finish with a topstitch
- Sew the main pieces of the storage caddy together, following the same steps as the handles
- Next, place the print side of the fabric up and align the handles with the short side facing the center. Sew.
- With the print part of the fabric inside, fold short edges together and sew
- Turn
- Crease edges with a metal ruler or press
