The upside to this simple craft is two-fold: you get a pretty new do-dad, and the nail file will no longer damage your handbag or similar carrying case!
You will need:
• Fabric, fabric, fabric! Trust me, you will want to make a dozen of these once you begin, so buy plenty of fabric designs. Pro-tip: These make wonderful gifts for the girly friends or metro men! NFL fabric is available should you wish to create a manly cover.
• Scissors
• Needle and thread or Mr. Singer
We all know these cute decorative files do not stay cute for long! The solution is a fabric emory board slip cover.
What to do:
• Cut fabric 23cm x 10cm (approximately)
• Next, press fabric under 1cm, then 2cm across one end and stitch. Remember: Pressing and ironing are different. To press, you lay iron down and pick back up, do not slide back and forth.
• You may opt for a decorative stitch, it will make for a more interesting slipcover!
• Now fold the fabric in half lengthwise, placing right sides together. Stitch the sides and bottom together with 1cm allowance.
• To finish, simply turn right side out and press!
On the go? Transform your file cover into a keychain!
