Serve up something special this year with this decorative fabric holiday-themed plate! Picture this laden with candy, cookies and other holiday goodies. You will need:
- Fabric (approximately ½ yard of each, depending on the size of the plate).
- Glass serving dish or dishes of choice (8-12” in diameter)
- Scissors
- Mod Podge
- Styrofoam brush
What to do:
- Turn the fabric right side down, place dish onto it and measure ½ inch larger than the circumference of the plate. Cut out.
- Use the styrofoam brush to coat the under-side of the glass plate with Mod Podge
- Carefully smooth fabric, right side up, onto the glued plate. Take your time, this part is tricky! The fabric design will show through the bottom of the clear plate, without any fabric on the actual eating surface.
- Turn plate over and paint Mod Podge over the fabric to seal it. Allow to dry.
- Trim off excess fabric from edges and seal them with more Mod Podge.
- Allow to dry overnight
Cover backside completely with Mod Podge. Do not be alarmed, it will dry clear!
Caution
- DO NOT immerse plate in water–clean glass surface with dishcloth
- DO NOT heat plate in microwave
