Fabric lining makes any container an attractive jewelry storage option
You will need:
- A yard of decorative fabric
- Choose 2 or more prints if there are several spaces available
- Tracing paper
- Mod Podge or your preferred fabric adhesive
- Foam brushes
- Small transparent self-adhesive cabinet bumpers
If you are limited on space, cover a corkboard with fabric and hang your jewelry from the wall. This is both functional and fun to look at!
What to do:
- Gather your supplies and prepare your workspace
- Make sure your container is clean and ready
- Use the tracing paper to create a pattern for each piece you wish to cover with fabric
- Use the pattern to cut out the fabric. Depending on the type of fabric chosen, you may need to leave a ½” allowance and fold it under to hide any jagged cuts or fraying
- Next, coat the area where the fabric is to be placed evenly with adhesive and gently press the fabric down
- Allow to dry
- Finish by coating the fabric with a few layers of Mod Podge if desired. This will protect the fabric
- Add the clear self-adhesive cabinet bumpers to the bottom of the tray and the project is complete!
An unused drawer can also be transformed into attractive and unique storage with a bit of fabric and paint!
