Here are some ideas for appliqued Easter themed napkins that will give your family and guests the warm fuzzies! Choose some bright prints and Easter fabrics to get started on your set before Easter arrives, at the end of this week. This is a fast and thoughtful way to jazz up the table for Easter dinner every year.
Adorable appliqued Easter napkins add something handmade to your homemade holiday dinner
You will need:
- Fabric napkins (or just make your own using some holiday fabric and a quick hem!)
- Festive fabrics. Spend time with the creative process of mixing and matching fabrics, it is the fun part, after all!
- Double stick fusible webbing
- Embroidery floss
- Scissors
- Iron
- The photos show the napkins made using Easter eggs, though you are free to trace bunnies, chicks and other items for your set!
Take it a step further and personalize each napkin with the name of a family member!
What to do:
- Draft your pattern on paper and use it to cut out your shapes onto the fusible webbing.
- Cut out all of the shapes you will need
- Place the webbing pieces over the wrong side of the fabric. The exposed webbing will be facing the fabric and the paper facing up.
- Now iron the webbing to the fabric as directed on the fusible webbing package.
- Cut the shapes from the fabrics
- Place the shapes onto the fabric napkins where desired and iron into place
- You can be finished at this point, or you can use embroidery thread to go around each shape!
- If you opt to make the eggs, a zigzag stitch over the outside of it looks adorable!
Add a name or a family name for a personal touch!
