The world we live in is all about having the fastest, most efficient, most user friendly gadgets. Most recently, consumers are demanding all of these things as well as sustainability. In other words, they want the fastest, shiniest, greenest product on the market. Fabric printing machines are not exempt from these seemingly insatiable needs.

Most recently, German company Thies GmbH & Co has created a dream machine that covers all of the necessary bases called the Monfort’s Montex 6500. Apart from streamlining controller units and updating the mechanics of the machine, Thies has managed to reduce the consumption of water, energy, and chemicals by 15%- 20%.
A lot of that reduction was made possible due to Thies’s invention of a new less toxic dye that requires less water during the dying process. The other major change made was during the ‘tentering’ (or post- dye finishing) process which requires a great deal of heat. The 6500 has a heat retrieval mechanism that reduces energy use by up to 30%.
