Be prepared to hit your favorite watering holes this spring break with a fabric beach tote made your way! This DIY beach tote will make it fashionable to carry all those towels and sunscreen around this summer. Photo set above is from Martha Stewart.
You will need:
- A sturdier fabric in a print you love (a 14 ½ x 32” rectangle)
- Nylon fabric (a 14 ½ x 32” rectangle)
- Pins
- Cording (Two 4-inch lengths and two 50-inch lengths)
What to do:
- Place the sheets of fabric and nylon together, right sides facing
- Pin them together and sew the short ends using a 3/8” allowance
- Turn inside out and stitch the ends once more with a ¾” allowance
- Fold end-to-end with the nylon side facing outward and pin sides
- To make the bottom loops, fold the 4-ich cording in half and put it in the lower corners, lined up with the fabric sides
- When you stitch the sides, catch the ends of the loops but do not enclose the channels
- Thread each end of the 50-inch cord through each channel. Repeat for the other side.
- Turn beach bag right side out
- To add the straps, thread an end of each drawstring through the loop below and secure the ends!
