I hope the title of this blog confused you enough to read further! Yes, I am going to show you how to make a cute kid’s bracelet using fabric and shower curtain rings! Begin by browsing our online fabric store for the perfect prints and get ready to have some family crafting fun!
You will need:
• A variety of fabrics, the more the better so that you may mix and match the bracelets
• As many packages of plastic shower rings as needed to accommodate the number of children (Plan for at least 3 bracelets per child to really get the creativity flowing!)
• Decorative ribbons. To be safe, make sure you have all the primary colors on hand.
• Fray check
• Scissors
• Hot glue gun or fabric adhesive
What to do:
• Cut fabric into strips about ½ inch to an inch thick, and about 9-12 inches long.
• Secure the ends with fray check for a smooth finish.
• Do not glue yet! Carefully wrap the fabric around the shower curtain ring, creating a slightly overlapping swirl (as pictured below). This is the practice round!
• Now add fabric adhesive or hot glue to the shower ring and repeat the step above, pressing cautiously as you wind the fabric around.
• If you prefer, add the drops of glue as you go
• Make sure to add sufficient glue to the ends and center, pressing firmly for a secure hold.
• Now choose a complimentary ribbon to finish the bracelet, as pictured below! Pro-tip: Because these bracelets can be made in bulk at low cost, just hot glue the ribbons closed to prevent constant tying!
Keep wrapping!
You can swap out ribbon and use different colors anytime you please!
