It’s been a long winter and a lot of us are ready for the Spring time and Summer time. Maybe your thinking about a ride down the shore. Or cleaning up the yard.
I love the smell of fresh mowed grass,it reminds me of summer festivals and craft
bazaars.
I remember as a kid going to the neighborhood church bazaar. They usually start in April or May.
There would be lots of home made cakes and cookies and crafts. There wasone crafter who always made beach bags.
I would go over to her table and check out every one of those beach bags making plans for my next visit to the Shore. She would make bags using tropical fabrics or fun decorative fabrics with flip flops,tropical flowers,seashells. One of my favorite beach bags that I remember was that she made a bag using a classic floral tapestry. The tapestry made an ordinary bag into a classic work of art.
Down the shore, in Wildwood, NJ we have a Mariners festival. The festival is always fun and you can see all different projects people made. I love the craft shows as it always gives me new ideas on what I can make. They have everything from Christmas wreaths made out of ruffled up novelty fabric to pillows and lots of
nautical crafts made from lighthouse and beach scene fabrics.
And then again if you have a beach house it can be so much fun to decorate it.
There are so many different ways you can decorate a home with fabric. You can use all white sail cloth and add some floral fabrics to give you the shabby chic look. You can go with a cute sea life theme with lobsters, crabs and fish. Mmmmnnn that’s a good idea.
Or you can have a more sophisticated look and buy a nice decorator fabricfor drapes or comfy throw pillows.
